AO Pegula, Sakkari, Goff, and Azarenka Advance

American tennis player Jessica Pegula advanced to the second round of the Australian Open after she defeated Jaqueline Cristian in straight sets and very convincingly, 6:0, 6:1. In the next round, she will face Aliaksandra Sasnovich.

Coco Gauff also advanced after beating Katerina Siniakova, also in straight sets 6:1 and 6:4. She will face the US Open champion from 2024, British player Emma Raducanu who recently recovered from injury.

In a duel between ex-Australian Open champions Victoria Azarenka and Sofia Kenin, Azarenka was better at 6:4 and 7:6.

Maria Sakkari also started the tournament victorious after she beat Chinese player Yue Yuan by 6:1 and 6:4.
