World number one on the WTA rankings, Iga Swiatek, returned to the court and managed to win convincingly in the second round of the Qatar TotalEnergies Open.
Iga defeated American player Danielle Collins in straight sets – 6:0 and 6:1. It took her only 54 minutes to close out the match in a highly dominant fashion.
In the first set, Swiatek forfeited only four points, and in the second, she continued her strong showing, but this time, her opponent at least recorded one game. In the next round, Swiatek will face Belinda Bencic from Switzerland.
