Current world number two on the ATP rankings, Carlos Alcaraz, was forced to withdraw from the ATP 500 Acapulco tournament due to the injury of the muscle on his right leg, which he suffered during the finals in Rio.
“Unfortunately, I will not be able to play in Acapulco. After the tests I’ve done, I’ll have to take a break for several days. I’m sorry I will not compete in Mexico, but right now, my priority is to recover as soon as possible. Hope I will see you soon,” Alcaraz posted on Twitter.
Cameron Norrie, who defeated Alcaraz in the recent finals in Rio, will also miss the tournament in Acapulco.
