ATP Punishes British Tennis Association

ATP punished British Tennis Association with 820 thousand pounds for excluding all Russian and Belarusian players from a total of five tournaments, including Wimbledon.

The officials of the British Tennis Association said that they are surprised that ATP does not have any empathy for the situation in Ukraine and that they don’t understand that this is a unique situation.

“This is a wrong decision. I call for ATP and WTA to think about what kind of message they are sending,” was the official statement from the British Tennis Federation.

This year, the points won at Wimbledon did not count on both WTA or ATP list. ATP announced that the money British Association pays would be donated to the help fund in Ukraine.
