Konjuh Withdraws After Suffering an Injury

Croatian tennis player, and current number 142 on the WTA rankings, Ana Konjuh, was forced to withdraw from Lyon Open after she suffered a leg injury.

The withdrawal was that much heartbreaking due to the fact she won the first set convincingly, 6:2, and she held the lead in the second set, 3:2, against her rival, Mayar Sherif.

She asked for a medicinal time-out after she felt the pain, and the medicinal staff concluded that she would not be able to continue the match. It was obvious from the very start that Konjuh was moving with more difficulties, which ultimately turned into a barrier that could not get passed.
