Cameron Norrie defeated Carlos Alcaraz at Rio Open, and aside from winning the title, he also enabled Novak Djokovic to become a new owner of the record of most weeks as the number one seed on the ATP rankings.
Since Alcaraz didn’t win the title in Rio, he was unable to tie Novak Djokovic for a number of points on the rankings, so the Serb entered his 378th week as the number one.
After an intense battle in the finals, Norrie defeated Alcaraz in three sets after two hours and forty-three minutes, 5:7, 6:4, and 7:5.
