Emma Raducanu, the British tennis sensation, has advanced to the fourth round of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells after a hard-fought victory over 13th seed Beatriz Haddad Maia.
Raducanu, who had made a strong start to the match, winning the first set 6-1, faced a determined Haddad Maia in the second set, dropping her serve twice and double-faulting four times as the Brazilian took the set 6-2.
However, Raducanu showed great resilience and determination to bounce back in the third set, eventually claiming a 6-4 victory.
The win is yet another impressive achievement for the 19-year-old Raducanu, who has been making waves in the tennis world since her sensational run to the US Open title in 2021.
Raducanu will now face either world No. 1 and defending champion, Iga Swiatek, or Bianca Andreescu in the last 16, with the potential for another thrilling match in store. Raducanu’s continued success on the professional tennis circuit is a testament to her talent and hard work, and she is sure to be a player to watch in the coming years.
