Serena Williams Reflects on the Match She “Can’t Believe” She Didn’t Win

Williams’ fantastic professional tennis career came to an end after she lost to Ajla Tomljanovic 7-5 6-7(4) 6-1 in the third round of the US Open in the final Grand Slam of last season.

While at the time, the American was left extremely proud of her efforts as she delighted the fans inside a packed Arthur Ashe Stadium, she admitted that she now looks back and regrets the result of that match.

She was recently interviewed by CBS Mornings and said she would simply love to have that match back to see if she could have gone further at Flushing Meadows in her grand farewell.

“I was actually not happy at all. Just because of the result. I was there to keep going and to keep winning. Yes, it was more or less like, “I can’t believe I let that match go” more than anything, you know.” Williams stated.
