Brasilian Player Thomaz Bellucci Retires From Professional Tennis

Brazilian tennis player Thomaz Bellucci finished his professional career with defeat by Sebastian Baez, 3:6, 2:6, in the first round of the tournament in Rio de Janeiro.

Bellucci won 200 matches throughout his career, and he has four titles to his name. His career-high rank on the ATP list was number 21, which he reached in July 2010.

The interesting fact about his career is that he is one of only five players to win the set against Novak Djokovic with a score of 6:0, and he also managed to win six times when he faced the top ten players.

“I will miss going out in front of the Brazilian crowd. You do not get such a feeling in any other job. However, I will not miss anything else,” he stated.
