Seasoned Swiss tennis player Stanislas Wawrinka managed to secure one of the biggest wins over the last several years after he managed to defeat world number 3, Casper Ruud.
The organizer of the tournament in Basel had some words to share with the press. “Stan had always played better in Basel when Federer wasn’t around. It seems that his absence helps Stan breathe easier,” he stated.
Wawrinka was very efficient in this game and managed to convert 93% of first serves, alongside nine aces against the player who had played two grand slam finals this year. The thirty-seven-year-old Swiss will play his next match in the tournament versus American Brandon Nakashima.
